Tyson Yager has been appointed Chief Data Officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, a strategic move intended to strengthen the organization’s data-driven projects and improve its analytical skills. Yager brings a depth of expertise and a passionate commitment to using data to provide meaningful insights to this important post. She has a demonstrated track record spanning more than 20 years in the fields of data analytics and strategic leadership.

Before taking on his current role, Yager was Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas’s Team Lead for Data Analytics. In this role, he oversaw efforts to leverage the capabilities of Python, Tableau, PowerBI, and other state-of-the-art tools to provide prescriptive, predictive, and dashboard reporting. During his tenure, the company’s analytical skills reached new heights because of his results-oriented attitude and unwavering commitment for perfection.

Yager developed his skills over more than ten years at Westar Energy, where he held several important roles including Manager of Customer Analytics and Manager of Supply Chain Reporting, before joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. During his stint at Westar Energy, he spearheaded innovative projects and initiatives that maximize operational efficiency and employed data-driven techniques.

Yager spent four years working as a business analyst at Capitol Federal Savings Bank before entering the field of data analytics. Because of his extensive background in this position, he possesses a profound comprehension of company procedures and the crucial capacity to convert data insights into practical plans.

Yager has continuously shown during his career that he is passionate about data and analytics and that he has a good grasp of how these insights can spur innovation and corporate progress. His nomination to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas’ Chief Data Officer position represents a major turning point for the organisation, which is still focused on strategic objectives and data-driven decision-making.

Yager’s new responsibilities include setting the direction for the organization’s data strategy, managing a group of talented employees, and cultivating an innovative and accountable culture.
