John Hamm’s career in the United States Air Force is marked by dedication and a commitment to excellence. He has a diverse range of experiences that make him an outstanding choice for the role of Chief Data Officer. John’s journey in the Air Force includes roles such as Data Link Test Engineer and Flight Test Engineer at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, where he demonstrated his expertise in data analysis and engineering.

Mastering Data and Flight

John’s educational background is equally impressive, with a Master’s degree in Experimental Flight Test Engineering from the United States Air Force Test Pilot School, and experience as an Operations Research Analyst and Flight Test Analyst at the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center. His analytical skills and ability to derive actionable insights from data have been key to his success.

Strategic Insight and Analysis

John’s analytical prowess is further exemplified by his tenure as an Assistant Policy Analyst and Doctoral Fellow at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, California. During this time, he contributed to analytic projects within RAND’s Project Air Force and National Security Research Division, showcasing his ability to provide valuable strategic insights.

Educational Achievements and International Experience

John’s educational journey also includes his time as a student of Operations Research at the United States Air Force Academy, where he graduated in 2015 as a Distinguished Graduate with Military and Academic Honors. He expanded his horizons through a semester exchange at the U.S. Naval Academy and a summer studying Economics and Political Philosophy at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.

A Background in International Affairs

Prior to his distinguished career in the Air Force, John worked as a Case Assistant and intern at the U.S. Department of State, where he gained valuable experience in public affairs and cases of international parental child abductions.
