Rony Abovitz, a prominent figure in the tech industry, has made headlines with the launch of his new startup, SynthBee, Inc. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida—the same city where he founded Magic Leap—SynthBee is focused on developing a novel computing intelligence platform designed to enhance enterprise productivity across various industries. The startup recently announced the successful closure of a $20 million seed funding round, led by Crosspoint Capital Partners, intended to support its growth and further development of its proprietary platform.

Abovitz has an impressive track record as a tech entrepreneur. He is best known for founding MAKO Surgical, which was acquired by Stryker for $1.65 billion, and Magic Leap, a leader in spatial computing. The intelligent computing systems developed by MAKO positively impacted the lives of millions of patients, and now SynthBee aims to apply this innovative spirit to accelerate human innovation safely across a wide array of industries.

With this fresh injection of capital, SynthBee is expanding its team and actively recruiting top talent in technology to further its mission. The company has already engaged several Fortune 500 companies as clients, which positions it strongly in the market.

“SynthBee is poised to revolutionize the way enterprises innovate,” said Andre Fuetsch, Managing Director at Crosspoint Capital. “Rony Abovitz’s vision for SynthBee will elevate human potential and outcomes by enhancing creative and problem-solving capabilities.” This emphasis on enhancing human creativity and problem-solving is central to SynthBee’s mission, leveraging computing intelligence to accelerate innovation safely and efficiently.

In a market where the ethical use and governance of large-scale artificial intelligence are under scrutiny, SynthBee is positioned as a solution to these challenges. Abovitz emphasized that the company is focused on overcoming the architectural and ethical issues prevalent in current AI systems, aiming to create a more democratic computational framework for enterprise and developer communities. “Current implementations of large-scale artificial intelligence systems have significant architectural challenges, security risks, and ethical flaws, leading to questionable governance and computational autocracies,” Abovitz stated.

He added, “SynthBee was founded to solve these problems and to forge alternate pathways for enterprise customers, the developer community, and eventually everyone, based on the philosophy of computational democracy. We are already commercially engaged with Fortune 500 customers with our solutions. We are also actively recruiting top tech talent to join our team.”

As SynthBee embarks on this exciting journey, it aims to amplify and accelerate human innovation while addressing critical issues of security and ethics in AI. With the backing of Crosspoint Capital and an unwavering vision from Abovitz, SynthBee is set to redefine how enterprises harness the power of technology to achieve their goals.
