“More Isn’t More” as Actively AI’s GTM Superintelligence Secures Funding

This funding would empower their “GTM Superintelligence model” that doesn’t just automate or assist but has the reasoning capability to make the best possible decisions

Artificial intelligence has forayed its way into all the available sectors, from health to education, but one sector has proved to be a hard one to traverse: the sales sector. It hasn’t fully transformed B2B sales or revenue-generating teams of various businesses due to the irreplaceable human element and the complex nature of enterprise deals. While AI can analyse data, automate outreach, and suggest next steps, it struggles with emotional intelligence, trust-building, and understanding nuanced client needs—all critical for closing high-value deals.

Why AI Sales Assistants Fall Flat

Sales conversations driven by AI often lack a personal touch due to their reliance on inflexible scripts, hindering meaningful engagement with potential customers. But this company has created an AI model, which they claim is “not shallow like other models.”

Actively AI’s model thinks like the best sales representatives of a company. Anshul Gupta and Mihir Garimella, two Stanford AI researchers, founded the company in 2022. They observed that traditional AI sales development representatives (SDRs) often didn’t perform well due to an excessive focus on the volume of outreach, which motivated them to start the company. They were tired of the ancient concept of “more”, from more mails to more calls to more automation.

This model of “volume” was just not working for businesses any more.

Smarter Than Your Average Sales Bot

Harness the power of AI’s deep reasoning capabilities to precisely identify, engage, and secure valuable opportunities. This adaptable AI foundation continuously learns and evolves, effectively overcoming challenges and tailoring its approach to each unique customer environment.

Therefore, they built a company that would take a new approach of deep reasoning, i.e., the ability to think deeply.

The founders have stated that “in two years, every winning revenue org will be powered by a model that outperforms human-led decisions—driving significantly higher pipeline, revenue growth, and a decisive edge over competitors—even if most leaders don’t realise it yet.”

Now this New York-based Actively has secured a total of $22.5 million in funding to date, including a recent $17.5 million Series A round led by Bain Capital Ventures. First Round Capital, which had previously led a $5 million seed round, also participated in the Series A. Notable angel investors include Jason Boehmig, Ali Rowghani, and Frederic Kerrest.

This funding would empower their “GTM Superintelligence model” that doesn’t just automate or assist but has the reasoning capability to make the best possible decisions.

The company in one of its blog posts shared that many “AI sales assistants” or “copilots” only provide basic AI or signals that enhance a single rep’s knowledge, leading to shallow personalisation and superficial relevance. In contrast, Actively trains a custom reasoning model for each company that is on par with its top sellers. Additionally, it synthesises significantly more data and context than any human could, delivering performance that surpasses any individual or AI tool.

Sales Reps Can Focus on Selling, Not Spamming

The company has integrated a proprietary AI model that continuously learns from historical data to predict revenue-driving factors. The AI model is customised to each company’s products, GTM strategy, and positioning.

While it analyses millions of data points, their model also knows when and how to engage different prospects through reasoning.

The team of Actively has co-built this platform alongside several eminent revenue teams and has served dozens of high-performing GTM organisations—including Ramp, Ironclad, Navan, Dialpad, and Verkada—from the very beginning.

This new funding will enable them to scale up by enhancing their reasoning engine, broadening use cases across the GTM stack, and recruiting top talent.

As the founding team puts it, “Our superintelligence handles the science behind sales so your reps can focus on the art.”
