When Austin Hughes and Connor Heggie crossed paths as undergrads at Rice University, little did they know their shared vision for transforming how revenue teams operate would one day lead to the creation of Unify. Today, just 20 months after its founding, Unify has raised $12 million in Series A funding, a testament to their rapid growth and innovative approach to sales technology. This funding round was led by existing investors Emergence Capital and Thrive Capital, alongside participation from the OpenAI Startup Fund, Alt Capital, and other notable firms.

The Broken System and the Birth of Unify

Austin Hughes, Unify’s co-founder and CEO, has been candid about the inspiration behind the company. “The way revenue teams interact with data is broken,” he says. This core belief drives Unify’s mission. After working at Ramp, where Hughes helped scale the company’s customer base from a few hundred to over 12,000 in two years, he recognized the inefficiencies in how sales teams gathered and utilized data. Together with Connor, who honed his expertise in machine learning at Scale AI, the two set out to create a platform that could unify data and transform the way sales and marketing teams engage with potential customers.

Explosive Growth and Unify 2.0

In just over a year and a half, Unify has experienced explosive growth, increasing its annual recurring revenue (ARR) by 39x year-over-year. Much of this success is attributed to their groundbreaking platform, which combines intent signals, AI agents, and email sequencing to power “warm outbound” messaging, ensuring sales and marketing teams can engage prospects with hyper-personalized communication at scale.

Unify’s recent Series A funding comes as the company launches Unify 2.0, the newest version of its platform. This update introduces “Unify Plays”, a workflow builder designed to automate up to 90% of repetitive tasks for revenue teams. The new system harnesses the power of AI for account research and email personalization, utilizing intent signals and robust email deliverability infrastructure. As Hughes explains, “Unify Plays is the most powerful canvas ever built for producing pipeline.”

Before Unify Plays, teams had to piece together point solutions, but now, sales teams can streamline everything—from prospecting to personalized outreach—all under one roof. With the help of AI Agents, the platform automates a wide range of tasks, from scraping the web for account research to writing custom email copy based on data from the web.

The Power of the Go-To-Market Data Graph

At the heart of Unify’s success is its GTM (Go-To-Market) data graph, which aggregates and cleans data from multiple sources, transforming it into a unified structure. By doing so, Unify enables sales teams to act on rich intent signals—whether it’s identifying a new hire in a target account or tracking website engagement. This comprehensive data graph is what powers the entire platform and fuels its AI-driven decision-making.

Hughes emphasized how this data-centric approach sets Unify apart from other AI Sales Development Representative (AISDR) solutions: “Traditional solutions narrowly focus on automating messaging, but Unify transforms the broader revenue team experience.”

With their data-driven foundation and advanced AI capabilities, Unify now counts companies like Justworks, Lattice, and Guru among their growing list of customers.

A Future-Forward Approach to Sales Tech

The recent funding will be instrumental in scaling Unify’s product development and expanding their engineering and sales teams. Their innovative use of AI in sales operations positions them as a key player in the sales tech industry. Hughes shared his excitement for what lies ahead: “We’re only getting started. With Unify 2.0, we’ve unlocked new possibilities for how revenue teams can operate more efficiently and creatively.”

What’s Next? Unify is Hiring!

With the fresh capital, Unify has ambitious plans for growth. The company is hiring across engineering and sales roles as they continue their mission to redefine how revenue teams interact with data and engage customers.

For those interested in joining a fast-growing company reshaping sales operations through AI, Unify offers the chance to be part of something truly transformative.
