Samay Kohli, known for revolutionizing warehouse automation with GreyOrange, has now turned his attention to solving the complexities of sales and marketing software stacks. His latest venture, Budy.bot, recently raised $4.2 million in a seed funding round led by early-stage VC firm RTP Global. Other notable investors included BeeNext Pte Ltd, The Neon Fund, BITS SPARK Angels, and a group of over 15 prominent angel investors, such as Raju Reddy, Postman CEO Abhinav Asthana, Pure Storage co-founder John Hayes, Sumo Logic co-founder Bruno Kurtic, and former executives from GreyOrange.
Budy.bot’s core focus is streamlining sales and marketing operations for growth-stage companies. Kohli’s motivation for founding the company stems from his experiences at GreyOrange, where the complexity of managing a sprawling sales and marketing stack became a hindrance rather than a tool for growth. “Anytime you want to do anything, you keep adding more and more apps on top of your sales and marketing stack,” Kohli explained. This clutter, with companies often juggling 100 to 150 apps, led him to envision a solution that simplifies the process.
Drawing on his experience in scaling GreyOrange’s go-to-market strategies from $0 to $100 million in ARR, Kohli built Budy.bot to help companies with revenues between $25 million and $200 million automate key processes such as sales forecasting and lead conversion during their growth stages. “The heavy lifting of all the tasks—from setting up things, logging in, and copying—can be done with the AI agent,” he said, adding that Budy.bot’s goal is to enable consultants to focus on business strategy rather than mundane operational tasks.
Currently, Budy.bot is working with select enterprise clients, including a SaaS company with $12-13 million in annual recurring revenue and another with $35 million in ARR that provides contact center software to banks. Kohli’s vision for Budy.bot involves empowering growth-stage companies by automating the processes bogging down their sales and marketing operations, allowing them to maximize efficiency and growth potential without adding unnecessary complexity.
“The power of agents is a lot dependent on tools,” Kohli noted, emphasizing the company’s focus on continuously expanding Budy.bot’s capabilities. While initially focusing on tools for Salesforce, the team is now working on features that allow seamless data movement between systems, further enhancing its utility for enterprise customers.
With backing from investors like RTP Global, Budy.bot is poised to make waves in the AI space. “This investment aligns perfectly with RTP Global’s focus on backing visionary founders in transformative sectors like AI,” said Nishit Garg, Partner at RTP Global. “We believe founders with bold ideas can redefine industries, and supporting them early is crucial for driving innovation.”
For Kohli, Budy.bot is more than just a solution to software overload. It’s a way to help companies get real value from the systems they already have—without drowning in layers of unnecessary tools.
