Picsart, the leading AI design studio, has announced a partnership with Getty Images to introduce commercially safe and responsible AI-generated imagery to its vast user base. The collaboration aims to empower millions of creators, marketers, and small businesses with cutting-edge tools to meet the growing demands of content creation.
According to Picsart’s CEO and Founder, Hovhannes Avoyan, the partnership will enable users to access everything they need within the Picsart platform. “Today’s marketers need to produce content 24/7 and they don’t want to leave Picsart to do it. Having everything you need in one place allows everyone from the individual designer to small business owners to meet the constant creation demands of modern business,” Avoyan stated. “Picsart offers endless customization, content, and editing tools for everything from social media ads to website graphics, and this partnership will enable commercially usable AI-generated imagery from a world-class brand. We are thrilled to partner with Getty Images, the most prestigious commercial library out there, to bring this to market,” he added.
The custom AI model will be developed from scratch by Picsart’s AI lab, PAIR, and will be exclusively trained on Getty Images’ licensed creative content. This approach ensures that the generated imagery adheres to the highest standards of commercial safety and respects the rights of intellectual property holders.
Grant Farhall, Chief Product Officer at Getty Images, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “This partnership connects Getty Images’ vast creative library with the next generation of marketers and creators, empowering them with high-quality content for use directly within the Picsart platform. It allows creators to bring their creative visions to life while maintaining the highest standards of commercial safety. We are thrilled to be working with another partner that is choosing to build powerful AI capabilities through licensed content, and in a manner that respects the rights of IP holders.”
Picsart’s Chief Scientist, Humphrey Shi, who leads the company’s AI lab, PAIR, confirmed that the team has been exploring commercially safe and responsible generative AI to cater to the needs of Picsart’s 150 million active creators. The model will be accessible through Picsart’s own API services.
In addition to the AI-generated imagery, Picsart is also integrating Getty Images video content into its platform, providing high-quality motion graphics to its Plus members. The Picsart x Getty Images model is expected to be released later this year, marking a significant milestone in the realm of AI-powered design tools.
