Maintaining A Streak Is Going To Be More Fun

To keep users connected and engaged on their platform, Snapchat has introduced some new features that rely heavily on generative artificial intelligence.

To keep users connected and engaged on their platform, Snapchat has introduced some new features that rely heavily on generative artificial intelligence.

Among the AI-focused updates is a feature that allows snapchatters to design personalized clothes for their bitmoji characters with the help of AI prompts. For example, users can describe what they want their outfit to look like using words such as “vibrant graffiti” or “skull flower.” Once this tool is used, unique digital clothing items will be generated for the user’s bitmoji.

Furthermore, Snap is launching an AI-driven lens which throws back users into the 90s by placing them in a simulated retro setting for a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

My AI Chatbot Gets Reminders and Countdown Capabilities

Snapchat is further expanding the capabilities of its “My AI” chatbot with the addition of reminders and countdowns. Users can now ask My AI to set reminders for upcoming deadlines or countdowns for special events, enabling the chatbot to serve as a digital assistant within the app.

Embracing Editing and Interactive Map Features

Moving beyond AI, Snapchat is also embracing messaging enhancements with the introduction of chat edits. This highly requested feature will allow users to update their direct messages within five minutes after sending, ensuring typos or misworded messages can be swiftly corrected before friends reply.

To drive further engagement, Snap is introducing “Map Reactions,” enabling users to spark conversations with friends nearby by sending emoji prompts through the Snap Map location-sharing feature.

Expanding Emoji Reactions and Snapchat+ Offerings

In addition to these updates, Snapchat is expanding its emoji reaction capabilities, allowing users to respond to direct messages with any emoji of their choice.

Notably, the chat editing feature will be initially exclusive to Snapchat+ subscribers, serving as an incentive for users to sign up for the platform’s premium offering.

These updates demonstrate Snapchat’s commitment to embracing generative AI while maintaining a focus on user experience and engagement. By integrating AI capabilities into existing features like Bitmoji and Lenses, Snap is delivering immersive and purposeful AI experiences tailored to its user base.

As social platforms race to incorporate generative AI, Snapchat’s approach stands out by offering AI-powered features that enhance functionality and foster connections, rather than feeling like forced additions.

With these strategic updates, Snapchat aims to drive increased usage, foster creativity, and entice more users to subscribe to Snapchat+, solidifying its position as a trendsetter in the social media landscape.
