Hitachi Vantara Enhances Focus on Enterprise Storage, AI, and Hybrid Cloud with Strategic Realignment

Hitachi Vantara is at the forefront of developing hybrid cloud storage solutions that seamlessly integrate on-premises and cloud computing.

Hitachi Vantara, the data storage, infrastructure, and hybrid cloud management subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., has finalized a strategic realignment aimed at bolstering the company’s growth strategy, particularly in the domains of hybrid cloud and generative AI. This realignment involves the integration of Hitachi Vantara and Hitachi’s IT Platform Products Management Division, which oversees business development, research and development (R&D), and production of data infrastructure solutions.

Empowering Innovation and Adaptability

This strategic move positions the realigned Hitachi Vantara to leverage its extensive expertise in infrastructure and data storage, especially in manufacturing and hybrid cloud environments. By fostering collaboration and innovation, the company aims to promptly address market demands and capitalize on emerging opportunities, all while maintaining its proficiency in managing data across mission-critical environments.

Addressing the Challenges of Generative AI and Data Processing

“The rise of generative AI and the explosion in data processing power are pushing the pace of change, and many organizations are struggling to keep up,” stated Sheila Rohra, CEO of Hitachi Vantara. “This next phase of business transformation is designed to help us accelerate our execution and scale our business to identify and capitalize on market opportunities in real-time.”

Leadership and Synergy

As part of the realignment, Akinobu Shimada, formerly president of Hitachi’s IT Platform Products Management Division, has been appointed as chairman of Hitachi Vantara. His leadership aims to strengthen the alignment between Hitachi Vantara and Hitachi Ltd., ensuring a unified digital infrastructure and AI strategy that delivers impactful outcomes for customers.

Pioneering Hybrid Cloud Solutions

Hitachi Vantara is at the forefront of developing hybrid cloud storage solutions that seamlessly integrate on-premises and cloud computing. This approach ensures safety, high performance, reliability, and cost advantage in processing critical, large-scale data for complex business requirements.
