SingleStore is a general-purpose SQL relational distributed modern data system built for speed, scale, and agility. It is designed for data-intensive applications and can handle both OLTP and OLAP in a single platform. SingleStore is used by various Fortune 500 companies for their real-time distributed SQL data-intensive applications.

The Underlying Technology of SingleStore

SingleStore uses a data pipeline that connects to various heterogeneous data sources, providing real-time data streaming. It uses a multi-core processing technology for fast data ingestion. The data is written directly into memory, making streaming faster. The data then automatically flushes down to a second layer for transactional, analytic, and contextualization purposes.

The Key Product Capabilities of SingleStore

SingleStore offers several key product capabilities, including Universal Storage built for speed, fast data ingestion, and separation of compute and storage. It also recently released a MongoDB API compatible feature, called SingleStore Kai, which can run the same queries as MongoDB applications but with 100-2000x performance.

Contextualization with Generative AI

Puttaswamy highlighted the importance of contextualization in data architecture. SingleStore achieves this through vectorization, which integrates well with Generative AI. He mentioned the use of large language models (LLMs) like GPT-3.5 or GPT-4.0, which can write poems, essays, summarize large documents, reason, translate, and even write code.
