Boeing, a global leader in aerospace technology, has announced the appointment of Vishwajeet Uddanwadiker as its Chief AI Officer. Uddanwadiker brings over two decades of experience in IT leadership, data science, and aerospace safety analytics to his new role, where he will spearhead Boeing’s AI initiatives to drive innovation and productivity across the company.

Extensive Experience in Aerospace Safety Analytics and Digital Solutions

With a distinguished career spanning over 15 years at Boeing, Uddanwadiker has held key positions focusing on aerospace safety analytics and digital safety experience. His most recent role as Vice President for Aerospace Safety Analytics and Safety Experience, along with serving as Chief Engineer for Generative AI, showcased his adeptness in leveraging AI and data analytics to enhance safety management systems for Boeing’s products and services.

Vision for AI Integration and Strategic Leadership

In his previous tenure as Vice President for Aerospace Safety Analytics & Digital Safety Experience, Uddanwadiker played a pivotal role in leading product management for safety analytics products, utilizing advanced modeling techniques and machine learning algorithms to identify hazards and risks. Additionally, he was instrumental in building out digital safety experiences, fostering an omnichannel collaborative environment for safety promotion and learning within the organization.

Seamless Transition from Previous Leadership Roles

Prior to his extensive tenure at Boeing, Uddanwadiker held prominent positions at Honeywell, where he led IT programs for aerospace and transportation systems, further honing his expertise in delivering innovative solutions within the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities as Chief AI Officer

As Chief AI Officer, Uddanwadiker will be responsible for driving AI and machine learning applications across Boeing, creating an AI platform and reusable models, developing governance approaches for responsible AI use, and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.

Vishwajeet Uddanwadiker holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
