Visa Appoints Andres Vives as New Chief Data Officer

Visa, the global leader in digital payments, has announced the appointment of Andres Vives as its new Chief Data Officer, effective July 2024. This strategic move reinforces Visa’s commitment to leveraging data and analytics to drive innovation in the payments industry.

Vives brings to Visa an impressive track record in data and analytics leadership across the financial services sector. His extensive experience includes roles at TD Bank, where he served as Enterprise Chief Data & Analytics Officer for over three years, and Citibanamex, where he held the position of Chief Data Officer for nearly four years.

Prior to his roles in banking, Vives spent over 15 years at Capital One, where he held various senior positions, including Managing Vice President – Head of Big Data Transformation. During his tenure, he led significant initiatives in big data analytics, credit risk management, and strategic growth.

Throughout his career, Vives has demonstrated a strong commitment to diversity and talent development. At Capital One, he led several diversity initiatives, including programs for Hispanic/Latino and East Asian employees, and served on the company’s Diversity Council.

As Visa’s Chief Data Officer, Vives is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the company’s data strategy and driving innovation in the rapidly evolving payments landscape.
