Fortive has announced the appointment of Jason C. Beyer as its new Chief Data Officer. Beyer will be leading the company’s efforts to maximize opportunities that enhance data management in a complex risk environment, focusing on strategic approaches for the protection, enrichment, and utilization of data assets.
Beyer expressed his excitement about the new role on LinkedIn, stating, “As data plays an increasingly critical role in unlocking value creation and AI portfolio differentiation, I will be leading Fortive’s efforts to maximize opportunities that enhance data management in a complex risk environment. In addition to his role at Fortive, Beyer continues to serve as a Board Member of the Greater Nashville Technology Council, and the Global CDO Ambassador for the State of Tennessee with the International Society of Chief Data Officers (isCDO). His responsibilities in these positions include championing education and awareness within the community, leading local connections and networking between leaders, and promoting future talent within Tennessee.
Before joining Fortive, Beyer had an extensive career at Bridgestone Americas, where he held multiple leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Data & Analytics, leading the enterprise Data & Analytics organization to fuel competitive differentiation through trusted data and profit-generating analytic solutions. His other roles at Bridgestone included Vice President of Information Technology, Executive Director of IT Operations, Executive Director of Information Security, and Director of Application Delivery. Each role saw Beyer making significant contributions to the company’s digital transformation and data management efforts.
Beyer’s career also includes a position as Manager of Business Intelligence and Mobile Development at Boston Scientific, where he led multiple global projects in reporting and analytics, mobile app development, and large enterprise programs. Additionally, he has experience at Target as a Project Lead and the United States Postal Service in a similar role. Beyer began his career in the United States Air Force, where he worked in communications.
Jason C. Beyer holds a Bachelor of Science in Management of Information Systems from the University of Minnesota Duluth and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA from Vanderbilt University – Owen Graduate School of Management. His diverse educational background and extensive professional experience make him well-suited to lead Fortive’s data strategy into the future.
