Infor has announced its selection of Amazon Bedrock to deploy generative AI (GenAI) solutions within its Infor CloudSuite. This decision marks a significant step in Infor’s 11-year partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is set to accelerate customer value across various industries.
The collaboration between Infor and AWS has already yielded industry-specific use cases built on AWS technology. These solutions enable Infor customers to complete daily tasks more efficiently using pre-trained models developed on Amazon Bedrock.
Soma Somasundaram, Infor’s President & CTO, emphasized the company’s commitment to making AI accessible to all customers. “Infor is on a mission to democratise AI by making it accessible to all our customers, regardless of the size of their organisation or the technical resources they employ,” Somasundaram stated. “Our goal is to build products that deliver transformative technologies directly to those who benefit most – the front-line people using Infor solutions.”
Somasundaram further explained Infor’s approach: “At Infor, we believe that merely giving customers the tools to apply GenAI isn’t enough. Our Industry AI approach combines both the tools and deep industry capability and expertise to collaboratively work with customers to build and offer solutions that drive real value.”
Infor has already released hundreds of predictive and prescriptive AI solutions through its Augmented Intelligence Service, built using AWS services such as Amazon SageMaker. With the integration of Amazon Bedrock, Infor plans to introduce 60 additional use cases by the end of the year.
These new capabilities will span various sectors and functions, including:
- Healthcare: Automating administrative tasks for frontline staff, such as nurse scheduling based on skills, certifications, and availability.
- E-commerce: Accelerating product launches by generating multiple item descriptions for online channels.
- Project Management: Simplifying oversight in industries like aerospace, defense, and industrial equipment through automated executive summaries and actionable recommendations.
- Global Communications: Assisting teams in process-centric industries like automotive and high-tech electronics with quick translation and deployment of business process email templates.
