Since coming out of stealth mode in March of this year, Ema has made a number of ground-breaking announcements aimed at transforming corporate AI. With a successful $50 million Series A investment round and a subsequent $36 million round, the firm has secured over $61 million in total cash. With participation from Prosus Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, Sozo Ventures, Wipro Ventures, SCB10X, Frontier Capital, and Colle Capital, Accel Partners and Section 32 led this fundraising round. Additionally, Ema has joined Microsoft’s esteemed Pegasus Partnership Program.
Ema’s customer base has more than tripled since its launch, a testament to the market’s trust and interest in their innovations. Today, Ema proudly unveils its Persona Builder Platform, on-premise deployment capabilities, and accreditation to the latest compliance standards in AI. These milestones mark a significant chapter in Ema’s journey, as the company continues to be at the forefront of transforming the future of work with Agentic AI.
Fastest Time to Value
Ema launched Universal AI Employees eighteen months ago with the goal of revolutionising workplace productivity. They were forerunners in the field of Agentic AI, launching “Personas”—AI workers with duties tailored to their specifications. Ema’s Personas may be used to perform efficiently in a variety of corporate jobs by integrating with internal data sources, creating knowledge graphs, learning from user input, and using over 200 pre-built connections. With this breakthrough, once a Persona is formed, there’s no need for manual fine-tuning or significant model training.
Any of Ema’s pre-built Personas, which include topics like customer service, employee experience, sales and marketing, and legal and compliance, may now be deployed by customers in a matter of minutes. In order to provide the shortest time to value without sacrificing security and compliance, specialised personas have been established for tasks such as preparing business proposals, adjusting insurance claims, and authorising medical procedures.
Leading the Agentic AI Revolution
Ema’s Personas are essentially groups of in-house AI bots that work together to complete intricate tasks. Using the right agents and design patterns, the company’s exclusive Generative Workflow EngineTM creates workflows and orchestration code. In addition to introducing numerous novel patterns of its own, Ema makes advantage of well-known agentic design patterns including reflection, planning, tool usage, multi-agent cooperation, language agent tree search (LATS), and structured output. The patent-pending EmaFusionTM model, which combines the capabilities of over 100 public and private models to give the greatest accuracy at the lowest cost and latency for each task, powers the extensive Agent Library.
Introducing the Persona Builder
A noteworthy turning point in Ema’s history has been the launch of the Ema Persona Builder platform. This ground-breaking instrument heralds a paradigm shift in the way companies may use AI to suit their own requirements. Business users can now customise AI by defining objectives, resources, and limitations and creating bespoke Personas with the help of the Persona Builder.
By enabling the development of specialised agents for certain business processes or AI helpers for specialised departments, this capacity democratises and broadens the use of agentic AI. In order to launch this platform, Ema is working with a small number of partners; further information will be released in the upcoming weeks.
Commitment to Responsible and Ethical AI
Ema has consistently prioritized trust and security. The company has achieved compliance with NIST RMF, NIST CSF, and NIST 800-171 standards, complementing their existing SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO27001 certifications. Ema’s security measures include robust systems for safe redaction and de-identification of sensitive data, rigorous copyright violation checks, end-to-end encryption, comprehensive audit logging, real-time monitoring, output explainability, and frequent penetration testing.
These measures ensure that enterprises can leverage Ema’s platform with confidence, knowing their data remains private, secure, and compliant with stringent regulatory requirements.
On-Prem Deployment
Responding to customer demand for greater flexibility, Ema introduces on-premises deployment capabilities for both Azure and Google Cloud Platform. This offering addresses critical concerns around data sovereignty, regulatory compliance, and performance optimization, allowing companies to keep their data within trusted environments. The on-premises solution integrates seamlessly with existing IT infrastructure, enabling scalable and secure AI solutions tailored to each organization’s unique business needs.
The Future: A Conversational Operating System for the Enterprise
Ema sees corporate software moving away from inflexible user interfaces and towards a more flexible, user-friendly interaction style in the future. Creating a conversational operating system that functions as the foundation for all business processes is the aim. Ema’s Personas will create new processes and produce user interfaces dynamically in real time, according to the demands of people and particular jobs.
With this change, operations may now be built and managed at a scale that would have previously required enormous resources by small, agile teams. Enterprise systems will be able to effortlessly interact with the conversational OS, giving managers of processes, data, and communication a single platform.
As Ema embarks on this multi-decade journey to revolutionize the future of work, the company expresses gratitude to its customers, partners, investors, advisors, and team members. Each plays a crucial role in bringing this vision to life.
Founder and CEO Surojit Chatterjee reflects on the company’s milestones: “We’ve successfully completed a new round of funding! A heartfelt thank you to our existing and new investors for believing in our vision and supporting us along the way. Your trust and commitment are the driving forces behind our innovation.”
Chatterjee also highlights the collaboration with Microsoft: “We’ve been selected to join the prestigious Pegasus Partnership Program by Microsoft. This collaboration is a significant milestone for us, opening new doors for innovation and growth.”
He adds, “Our hard work is paying off as we’ve more than tripled our customer base, a testament to the value and impact of our solutions. We are grateful to our clients for their trust and partnership. This is just the beginning. The future holds immense possibilities, and we are more excited than ever to continue pushing the boundaries of AI technology.”
As Ema continues to innovate, the company invites stakeholders to join them on this exciting journey. The enterprise of tomorrow is conversational, adaptive, and intelligent and it speaks Ema.
