Top AI Startups with Highest Funding in USA In 2024

The AI community is on a spree to start the most innovative startup and it is getting really competitive.

The news for the AI startup community today is how Parag Agarwal raised $30 million dollars for his new startup. A lot of money is flowing into the AI startup ecosystem. But this is not something that has been the trend for a long time. It has been since the Gen AI Fomo has set in, tech investors are going all in to get into the trend.  Funding for AI startups in the US surged in 2023, rising from $22.7 billion in 2022 to $36.7 billion according to a report by AIM Research.

The AI community is on a spree to start the most innovative startup and it is getting really competitive. With investments and valuations like these, it’s not long till we see a separate Shark Tank for AI Startups soon!!

Here’s a list of some of the top AI startups with high fundings in USA 2024.

Anduril Industries

  • Current Valuation: $14 Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $1.5 Billion
  • Defense Technology Startup
  • Founder: Palmer Luckey, Brian Schimpf
  • HQ: Costa Mesa, California
  • The deal, which values Anduril at $14 billion, is one of the largest venture capital financings of the year so far, and reflects the company’s success getting government contracts, as well as rising investor enthusiasm for defense technology companies.

Scale AI

  • Current Valuation: $13.8 Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $96 Million
  • Accelerates AI application development.
  • Founder: Alexandr Wang 
  • HQ: San Francisco, California
  • Scale AI has secured $1 billion in funding led by Accel, boosting its valuation to $13.8 billion, nearly doubling its previous $7.3 billion valuation from April 2021.

Xaira Therapeutics

  • Current Valuation: $4-6 Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $1Billion
  • Biotechnology company advancing AI for disease treatment
  • Founder: Dr. David Baker
  • HQ: San Francisco
  • In order to create ground-breaking new medications, Xaira’s novel method to drug discovery makes use of AI technology as well as knowledge from functional genomics and proteomics. 

Cohere

  • Current Valuation: $5.5 Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $500 Million
  • Data security-focused enterprise AI company
  • HQ: San Francisco, California
  • CEO: Aidan Gomez, Nick Frosst, Ivan Zhang
  • Toronto-based Cohere has secured a $450 million investment from major corporate backers, including Nvidia, Salesforce Ventures, Cisco, and PSP Investments, at a $5 billion valuation.

Figure AI

  • Current Valuation: $2.6 Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $675 Million
  • AI robotics for humanoid robots
  • HQ: Sunnyvale, California
  • CEO: Brett Adcock
  • Figure has raised $675 million to advance its general-purpose humanoid robots and signed a collaboration with OpenAI to develop next-generation AI models.

Adept

  • Current Valuation: $1Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $415 Million
  • Enterprise AI for the workforce
  • HQ: San Francisco, California
  • CEO: David Luan
  • San Francisco-based Adept, valued over $1 billion with over $410 million raised, has appointed a new CEO and will remain independent of Amazon. Amazon will pay Adept a licensing fee for its technology that automates business functions.

Cyera

  • Current Valuation: $1.4 Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $300 Million
  • Data Centric approach towards Security
  • HQ: New York
  • CEO: Yotam Segev
  • Cyera, a data security startup, raised $300 million at a $1.4 billion valuation to enhance its platform for understanding and securing company data.

Anyscale

  • Current Valuation: $1.1 Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $40 Million
  • Scalable compute for AI
  • HQ: San Francisco, California
  • Founders: Robert Nishihara, Philipp Moritz
  • Anyscale enables easy scaling of Python applications for developers, from laptops to data centers, and has raised $259 million with a valuation of $1.1 billion.

Augment

  • Current Valuation: $977 Million
  • Funding in 2024: $227 Million
  • Enhances coding efficiency 
  • HQ: Palo Alto, California
  • CEO: Scott Dietzen
  • AI coding assistance startup Augment Inc. raised $227 million in Series B funding, reaching a $977 million valuation, to accelerate product development and expansion

Together AI

  • Current Valuation: $1.25 Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $106 Million
  • Open-source AI research and deployment
  • HQ: San Francisco
  • CEO: Vipul Ved Prakash
  • Nvidia-backed Together AI raised $106 million, doubling its valuation to $1.25 billion as investors capitalize on the generative AI boom.

Glean

  • Current Valuation: $2.2 Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $200 Million
  • AI Assistant for Company Data
  • HQ: Palo Alto, California
  • CEO: Arvind Jain
  • Enterprise AI company Glean is in advanced talks to raise $250 million, doubling its valuation to $4.5 billion amid strong investor interest.

Cognition AI

  • Current Valuation: $2 Billion
  • Funding in 2024: $196 Million
  • AI powered coding assistant, Devin
  • HQ: San Francisco
  • CEO: Scott Wu
  • Cognition AI developed Devin, the AI-powered coding assistant hailed as the “first AI software engineer,” which autonomously managed development projects, from learning and building to deploying and debugging.

Celestial AI

  • Current Valuation: $1.2 Billion
  • Funding: $175 Million
  • Semiconductor Manufacturing

  • CEO: Dave Lazovsky
  • Celestial AI developed the Photonic Fabric™ technology platform with a mission to transform computing by using light for data movement, both within and between chips. Their goal is to fundamentally change the way computing is done through this proprietary technology.

Sierra

  • Current Valuation: $1 Billion
  • Funding: $85 Million
  • Conversational AI platform for businesses

  • CEO: Bret Taylor, Clay Bavor
  • Sierra develops AI-powered conversational agents tailored for business customers, facilitating hundreds of thousands of customer interactions monthly for clients like WeightWatchers, SiriusXM, Sonos, and OluKai. The company focuses on enhancing customer communication through advanced conversational AI technology.

Pika

  • Current Valuation: $250 Million
  • Funding: $55 Million
  • Idea-to-video platform
  • HQ: Palo Alto, California
  • CEO: Demi Guo
  • Pika, founded by two Stanford Ph.D. students in April 2023, offers generative AI software that enables users to easily create videos, such as scuba divers exploring underwater or tigers prowling forests. The platform has already been used to generate 35 million videos.

  • Replicate hosts and runs open-source AI models, making machine learning accessible to software engineers. The platform charges developers for the time models are running, offering a range of AI tools from Meta’s Llama 2 to smaller, specialized programs.

Kumo.AI

  • Funding: $37M
  • Data Analytics Software

  • CEO: Vanja Josifovski 
  • Kumo.AI provides enterprise clients with affordable access to graph neural networks, allowing them to input large volumes of raw data and receive predictive insights within 24 hours.

Hebbia

  • Current Valuation: $700 Million
  • Funding: $130 Million
  • Enterprise search Engine
  • HQ: New York, United States
  • CEO: George Sivulka
  • Hebbia is an AI platform for knowledge work, enabling finance, law, and Fortune 500 companies to automate complex tasks and workflows by orchestrating AI agents that extract, structure, and analyze vast amounts of data.
